Elizabeth “Betty” Jane Wead, 72, of Nederland went to be with the Lord on May 8, 2013. She was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Carriere on April 14, 1941 in Eunice, LA. She married her love, Milford Hollis Wead in 1958. Elizabeth lived a legacy of love. She was passionate to care for others in prayer.
She was a Sunday School Teacher at Nederland First Assembly of God for years and Women’s Railroad Auxiliary member. She was a member Magnolia Assembly of God in Port Neches.
Funeral services will be held at Melancon’s Funeral Home in Nederland on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:30 a.m., Rev. Frank Williams and Rev. Brent Williams officiating.
Interment will follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park in Port Neches. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Elizabeth is survived by her husband; two children, Teresa Mazzara and husband, John and Milford “Bub” Wead, Jr.; two grandchildren, Hollie Crowley and Courtney Wallace; four great-grandchildren, Paytin, Rowdy, Gracie, and Lyren; four sisters, Laura Steele, Linda Tatman, Mary Duplechain, and Helena Burleigh. She is preceded in death by her parents, Azama and Andrew Carriere; sister, Lucy Arnaud; two brothers, Rodney and Ivan Carrier; and her granddaughter, Nicole Mazzara.
