NEDERLAND —    Clifford E. Cook, SR., age 89 of Nederland passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Groves. He was born on March 1, 1924 in Grandview, Indiana to Leo and Dollie Skelton Cook.

   Clifford was the owner of Cliff Cook Nursery in mid-county all of his life and was well known in the mid county area, he also retired from the Cotton Belt Railroad in Illinois, and was a former merchant marine. Clifford was well known for his knowledge of plants, he could grow anything. He was a good father, grandfather, he was always loved by so many people. He will be missed dearly.

   He is survived by four children, sons, George A. Hunter of Nederland, Bill Cook  of South Carolina, Clifford Cook,JR.  of Lumberton and daughter, Diane Bergeron of Sabine Pass, 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren 1 great great grand child, sister Lillian Hoening of Illinois.

   Visitation will be on Thursday, September 12, 2013 from 4:00P.M. until 6:00 P.M. with a Memorial Service to follow at 6:00 P.M. at Clayton Thompson Funeral Home, 5200 West Parkway, Groves, Texas.
