NEW IBERIA, LA —
Velma Ethel Klipstein, 91, of New Iberia, Louisiana, formerly of Mauriceville passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2013.
Velma was a native of Bleakwood, Texas; born on October 13, 1921 to parents Alma (Herrin) and Gail Miller. She had lived in Mauriceville for 54 years and the last 12 years in New Iberia, La. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Orange. She enjoyed painting, baking, cooking, and working in her yard.
She was preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Miller, brothers, Raymond Miller, Wayne Miller and Jackie Miller.
She is survived by her husband, E. W. Klipstein of New Iberia; daughters, Shirley Dossett and husband, Edward of Wasola, MO, Charlotte Barkley of Lake Fork, TX, Wanda Roach of Spring, TX; sons, Larry Cooper and wife, Lettie of Lake Charles, LA, Gail Klipstein and wife, Pat of Mauriceville, Michael Klipstein and Kathleen of New Iberia, LA; sisters, Maxine Tankersley of Willis, TX, Melba Pemberton and husband, Jimmy of Hearne, TX; brothers, L. G. Miller and wife, Viana of Bridge City, Floyd Miller and wife, Geneva of Hot Spring, Ark; fifteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, ten great great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 5 pm until 9 pm at Dorman Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2013 at 10 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bob Harrin Cemetery in Bonwier, TX.
Honoring Velma as pallbearers will be Timmy East, Mike Walton, Greg Walton, Rodney Cooper, Derrick Cooper and Kevin Klipstein.
