PORT ARTHUR —
Vincent Alpough, Sr., passed away on Friday, October 25, 2013 after a lengthy illness at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. He was 89 years old.
He was born to Clifford and Lillie Alpough in LeBeau, Louisiana. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He became a resident of Port Arthur in 1956. He was an employee with the City of Port Arthur for 33 years until his retirement in 1983.
He is preceded in death by his wife of more than fifty years, Rita Alpough; siblings Bernadine Leon and Francis; children Johnny, Michael and Maureen; sister-in-law Rose Jones; daughter-in-law Nancy Alpough; and great-grandchild, A’Nyria January.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving children Vincent Jr. (Julie), Hazel January (Thomas), Joseph Curtis (Sherold), Myra Williams (Fredwin), Laura (Tim) and Anita Tyler (Alvin) all of Port Arthur, TX, Cynthia Glasper (Jerald) of Beaumont, TX, Lionel (Sarah) of Abbeville, Louisiana. He also leaves a very special granddaughter whom he considered a daughter, Trameka Alpough Williams (Charles); and a host of grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be Friday, November 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9 a.m. until service time.
