PORT ARTHUR —
On October 11, 2013 Albon Lee Buffington moved on to his heavenly home. He was born in Port Arthur on July 31, 1930. He had been living in the Dam B area for several years. He passed away at St. Mary’s Hospital in Port Arthur.
Mr. Buffington had retired from the Texaco refinery in 1988 where he had been employed as a welder for 35 years. He had also retired from the United States Navy Seabee Reserves with the rank of Sergeant. Mr. Buffington was also a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Mr. Buffington is survived by his wife Charlotte. They married in 1952 and it had remained a very loving relationship through the years. He is also survived by his son Daniel Buffington and his wife Becky of Bridge City and two daughters; Wauline Esstell Buffington of Sulfur, LA and Ineda Gay Wininger and her husband Kevin of Woodville and four grandsons; Josh, Jared and Jacob all of Bridge City and David of Sulfur, LA. Mr. Buffington is also survived by his mother Grace Buffington of Lumberton and two brothers; David Buffington and wife Jackie of Burleson, TX and Michael Buffington and wife Liz of Lumberton and the late Charles Buffington and his wife Norma. Also included are several other relatives and friends.
Interment will be at Houston National Cemetery on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at 2:30 pm.
