PORT ARTHUR —
Jospeh Eldridge Londow 82, of Port Arthur, Texas was born on October 6, 1930 to Victor and Anita Londow. His parents and six brothers preceded him in death. Joseph was a lifelong resident of Port Arthur and a faithful member of St. John’s Catholic Church. He graduated in 1950 from Sacred Heat Catholic School. Joseph served in the United States Army, fought in the Korean War, and retired as a supervisor from Gulf Oil Company (Chevron) after 31 years of service. He was a dedicated member of the Royalist Civic and Social Club where he served as Secretary for many years.
Joseph (“El”) departed this life on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Dubuis Hospital. His memory will be cherished by his loving family: A devoted wife of 57 years, Johnetta Gabriel Londow; three daughters, Cynthia Gail White and Joetta Elizabeth Parker, both of Port Arthur, TX; Kathy Elaine Londow of Memphis, TN; one sister, Rena Londow Wesley of Port Arthur, TX; one brother-in-law, John J. Gabriel Jr. (Frances) of Pensacola, FL; one sister-in-law Mattie Scott Londow of Port Arthur, TX; four grandchildren, Candace Y. White of Houston, TX; Courtney Charles, Timothia Londow, and Samuel Londow all of Port Arthur, TX; four great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. followed by a celebration of life at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church, 620 W. 53rd Street (El Vista Community), Port Arthur, TX 77640. Official internment will follow at Greeenlawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Groves, TX. Final arrangements entrusted to Gabriel Funeral Home of Port Arthur, TX.
