PORT ARTHUR —    Sis. Della Madison Rhine departed this life on Saturday, April 6, 2013. She was born on July 17, 1946 to the union of Ulysses and Lillian Hall in Port Arthur, Texas.

   Della attended the schools of the Port Arthur Independent School District, and was a 1964 honor graduate of Lincoln High School. There, she was actively involved in the Young Homemakers of America organization.

   She attended Lamar University, Beaumont, and received Bachelor degrees in Business and English. Della was a certified Substance Abuse Counselor, and received her Master's degree in Vocational Counseling from Prairie View A&M University.

   Della was a certified teacher employed in the Port Arthur Independent School District for many years. She taught English and typing classes at Woodrow Wilson Middle School, and was loved dearly by her students. Enjoying her retirement, Della loved travelling, cooking, entertaining, playing card games and dominoes.

   Della accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at an early age at Guiding Star Baptist Church, where her mother, Lillian, was a charter member of the church. She served faithfully in the church and she was President of the Women's General Mission, Secretary of the Deaconess Board, and was a certified teacher for the Congress of Christian Education.

   For several years, she was an active missionary worker for the White Rose Church of God in Christ.

   Della was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ulysses and Lillian Hall, and husband, Ernest Louis Madison, Sr.; her brother, Ulysses Hall, Jr. and sister, Merva Hall Brannon.

   Della leaves to cherish her memories, husband, David Rhine; a loving son, Earnest Madison, Jr.; a devoted sister, Critty Wells Barrett; nephew, Brian Hall (Constance); life-long and close friends - Shirley Washington, Wanda Wallace, Jandvis Lewis, and Diane Sutton; and a host of relatives and friends.

    A public viewing will be held on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at Guiding Star Baptist Church 448 Gizelle Street, Port Acres, Texas. Funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 P.M... Entombment Live Oak Cemetery, 12563 W Port Arthur Rd. Beaumont, Texas.
