PORT ARTHUR —
Lillie McKyer Martin 60, of Port Arthur, Texas, answered the Master’s call and went to be with her Savior on Thursday, May 9, 2013, at St. Mary Hospital, Port Arthur, Texas.
She was a resident of Port Arthur, Texas, for well over forty years.
She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1971, and then moved to Houston, Texas, where she earned numerous degrees in the medical field. She retired from Mission Bend Medical Center, Missouri City, Texas, in 1996. She later moved back to Port Arthur, Texas in 1997 to care for her loving mother until her death.
She was preceded in death by both her parents, Harrison L. and Lillie B. Mckyer; two brothers, Marvin and Ronald McKyer; and one sister Sharon McKyer Victoria.
She leaves to cherish her loving and devoted husband Austin Martin; two daughters, Tabitha Hicks (Arnold) and Roshondra Charles (Ron) from her previous marriage to Martin Sigur; one stepdaughter, Ronreance Thomas; one step-son, Edduan Martin. Two extended daughters Donna Lowe and Yalonda Louis-Shelton; grandchildren, Kali, Arnaja and Aram Hicks, and Travon and Kennedy Charles; step-father, Joseph Sias; six brothers; Steven McKyer, Wayne Dale McKyer (Rita), Jarvis McKyer (Dr. Lisako), Timothy McKyer, Kenneth McKyer (Rolanda), Kelvin McKyer (Yorlanda); one sister in law, Diana Martin; two devoted friends Loretta Nealy and Octavia Windon; along with the sweet memories of her nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins and close friends.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Port Arthur, Tx. Visitation will be 9-11a.m. and service will follow. Burial will be at Live Oak Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
