He worked at plants from Texas to the northeast and finally retired from the Victoria DuPont Plant in 1993.  He was known as the family Mr. Fix It.  He was instrumental in remodeling and creating the retail space for Joy’s business in Victoria, The Foliage Shop.  Upon retirement, he and Joy moved to the Texas hill country and built a home on Lake LBJ in Kingsland, Texas. Many great memories were created with the grandchildren and extended family at the lake house, swimming, fishing and boating.  After many great years in the Texas hill country, Bill and Joy moved to Kingwood, Texas.

Bill is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Marilu Joy Walton; sons Will and Lisa Walton of Kingwood, TX; Peter and Cathy Walton of Buda, TX; grandchildren, Sara, Caitlyn, Jane and William Walton; and step mother Lois Walton of Yucaipa, CA.

Bill’s request was that he be cremated with his ashes to be interred at Greenlawn Cemetery in Groves, Texas at a later date.  A celebration of life memorial will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 16, 2014 at Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer Road, Kingwood, TX 77339, with the sharing of food and fond memories following.
