PORT ARTHUR —
Beverly Ann DeYoung, 78, of Port Arthur passed away, Friday, August 2, 2013. Beverly was born May 13, 1935 in Port Arthur to the late Benjamin and Elaine Kidder. Beverly is described by her family as a loving wife, devoted mother, superb involved grandmother and friend to many. She enjoyed taking care of people as if they were family. She loved knitting blankets in her spare time for people in the local nursing homes. Beverly was the driving force in her family and enjoyed cooking and having her family united during gatherings. She was known as a people person, always willing to help someone in need. She will be greatly missed by her friends, family and her community.
Beverly is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth C. Kidder.
Beverly is survived by her husband, Carl Edward DeYoung, Sr.; son, Carl Ed DeYoung, Jr. and his wife Dena of Groves; daughter, Catherine DeYoung of Groves; grandchildren, Justin DeYoung, Amanda DeYoung, Kayla Vidrine, Tessa Johnson and great grandson, Luz Johnson.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 7, 2013 at Grammier - Oberle Funeral Home with burial to follow at Oak Bluff Cemetery, Port Neches with Rev. Scott Wallace officiating.
