PORT ARTHUR —
Gladys M. Bryant, 85, of Port Arthur passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 in Kountze. Gladys was born December 2, 1927 in Port Arthur, TX to Oliver and Gertrude Goulas.
Gladys worked for Texas Menhaden, Sabine Hotel and later retired from Noack Locksmith in Port Arthur. She enjoyed playing bridge and loved to travel.
Gladys is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Gertrude Goulas; husband, John Bryant; grandson, John Gregory and sisters, Sybil Scales and Jo Ann Louvier. She is survived by her son, Ernest Cox of Lumberton; daughter, Patricia “Patti” Trosclair of Huntsville; step-daughter, Jo Ann Douglas of New Mexico and step-son, Robert Bryant of Port Neches. Grandchildren include, Corey Cox, Casey Cox, Keith Jacobs; and great-grandchildren, C J Cox and Justin Jacobs.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 9 a.m. until 12 p.m., with a rosary to be recited at 10 a.m., at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. James Catholic Church with Rev. J.C. Coon officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
