PORT ARTHUR —
Gregory Van Joubert, Sr., 64, passed away peacefully, Friday, June 14, 2013. He was born in Port Arthur, TX on October 19, 1948. He was the first child and son of Dorothy Joubert and the late Hurist Joubert.
Gregory was a 1967 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.
Gregory is preceded in death by his father, Hurist Joubert, Sr. He leaves to cherish his memory, five sons, Gregory Van Joubert, Jr., Gregory Harper (Tiffany), Demone Harper (Deidra), Jeramee Joubert all of Port Arthur, TX and Hurist Joubert (Sandra) of Beaumont, TX; one daughter Ebony Powell of Port Arthur, TX; his wonderful mother Dorothy May Joubert; three brothers, Hurist Joubert, Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, Clayton “Billy” Joubert (Delina) and Effery Joubert (Albanie) of Port Arthur, TX; three sisters, Linda Gordon of Houston, TX, Fayetta Washington of Plaquemine, LA and Brenda Joubert of Port Arthur, TX; 7 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles a life time devoted friend Beatrice Lee; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will be Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
