Mr. Clarence Edward Martin "Coffee"

PORT ARTHUR —   On Sunday, January 26, 2014 at 4:55 a.m., Clarence Edward Martin went home to be with the Lord. Clarence, affectionately called “Coffee”, was 63 years old and a native of Port Arthur, Texas. He was a 1968 graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and a retired City of Port Arthur employee.

   He was born on May 19, 1950 to the late Harris Martin and the late Odelia Taville Martin, both of Port Arthur, Texas. Before his health declined, Clarence was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

   He enjoyed sports, country music, Gospel music, and a good hot cup of coffee. Clarence was a dedicated son, a caring brother, a loving uncle, and a kind friend to all.

   He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gabriel James Martin, and three nephews.

   He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Matilda Martin of Port Arthur, Texas; two brothers, Lawrence Martin of Port Arthur, Texas and Harris Martin Jr., of Houston, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Maryann Reed (Lawrence) of Port Arthur, Texas and Nora Martin (Harris) of Houston, Texas; seven nieces, Tracie Martin Montoya of Long Beach, California, Erica Martin of Killeen, Texas, Katie Martin Granger and Marlo Martin, both of Port Arthur, Texas, June Rose Martin, Loretta Martin, and Norene Martin Archer, all of Houston, Texas; four nephews, Daniel Martin of Los Angeles, California, Paul Martin of Houston, Texas, Daniel Montoya (Tracie) of Long Beach, California, and Jerimie Archer (Norene) of Houston, Texas; eleven great nieces; nine great nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

   A Homegoing Celebration will be held 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Sacred Heart-St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Sampson Etim, officiating. Burial will follow at Live Oak Memorial Park, Beaumont, Texas. A visitation for family and friends will begin at 8:00 A.M. with a Rosary beginning at 9:30 A.M. Final arrangements entrusted to Hannah Funeral Home.
