PORT ACRES —
Bertha Guidry Noble, 109, of Port Acres, died Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at Cypress Glen Nursing and Rehabilitation, Port Arthur. She was born on January 8, 1904, in Church Point, Louisiana, to Mary Roberta Richard Guidry and Joseph Louis Guidry, and had been a lifelong resident of the area.
Bertha was a very loving and caring person. She cared for and raised many kids in her neighborhood, and was known by many as “Granny Noble”.
Bertha is survived by her sons, James Louis Noble and his wife, Norma Faye, of Beaumont and Joe Henry Noble and his wife, Gloria Dean, of Port Acres; grandchildren, Cynthia Dean Bonin and her husband, Paul and Stephen Wayne Noble; seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William U. Noble; six brothers; two sisters; and grandson, William Morris Noble.
A gathering of Mrs. Noble’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Friday, February 8, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 12thStreet, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 2:30 p.m., Saturday, February 9, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
