Oil City, LA — Robert “Bob” Oakley Rourk Sr., 70 of Oil City, LA passed away April 28, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 10 am, Friday, May 4, 2012 Lakeview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Oil City, LA officiated by Rev. Jessie Colston. There will be a time of visitation on Thursday the 3rd from 6-8 pm at Gorsulowsky Funeral Home in Vivian, LA. Bob was born December 24, 1941 in Birmingham, AL to Oakley and Elizabeth Wade Rourk and lived in Oil City since 1976. He grew up in Port Arthur, TX. He was a Baptist by faith. He served in the US Army. He loved wood working, and tinkering on motors and different things outside. He was a member of the Fair Park Masonic Lodge. He loved talking on the CB and his CB handle was Dr. Pepper. He loved people and he loved to joke around. Bob was a football fan and loved the Dallas Cowboys and he loved LSU. Bob is survived by his wife of 35 years, JoAnn Rourk of Oil City, his 2 children, Robert O. Rourk Jr. and wife Anja of Oil City, LA and Elizabeth Cecil and husband David of Shreveport, LA, his sisters, Patsy Kracman and husband Del of Shreveport and Cora Beth Fletcher of Calhoun, LA, 1 grandchild on the way and Numerous nieces and nephews.
