PORT ARTHUR —
Eugene Shankle was the seventh child born to the late Trogie Shankle and Thelma Sibley Shankle on August 30, 1942 in Newton, TX. He grew up in the Liberty Community attending Liberty High School and graduated from Kerr High School in 1960. He attended Prairie View A & M University.
At an early age, he united with St. Paul Christian Methodist Church under Pastoral leadership of the late Rev. George King. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served during the Vietnam War. He married Elois Sinegal and was a devoted husband until his death. He was a pipe fitter out of Labor Local 853.
Bro. Eugene’s loving memories will forever be cherished by his loving wife Eloise Shankle; sons Kelvin Shankle of Houston, TX, Shawn Sinegal (Danielle) daughter, Cheryl Sinegal of Port Arthur, TX; brothers Harold (Helen) Shankle, David Shankle, Trogie Shankle, Jr.; sisters Mary Grant (Edison Sr.), Zerlene Black (Frederick Sr.); 6 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled from 11 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Gabriel Funeral Home Chapel with a viewing from 9 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Jim Shankle Cemetery in Shankleville, TX under the direction of Gabriel Funeral Home.
