Randall “Randy” Gerard Guidry, 69, of Groves passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. Randy was born October 23, 1944 to Andrew “Catfish” Guidry and Carlene Sue Guidry.
Randy was a proud 27 year veteran employee of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department, earning the rank of Lieutenant and retiring in 1994. He loved sports, especially his two favorite teams, the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.
Randy is preceded in death by his parents, Andrew “Catfish” Guidry and Carlene Sue Guidry. He is survived by his children, Dean Guidry of Groves, Bradley Guidry of Groves and Julie Guidry of Deer Park; brothers, Paul “Kim” Guidry and wife Mary Ann of Houston, Donnie Guidry and wife Bernice of Port Neches; a sister, Karen Guidry Jumonville and husband Doug of Beaumont; and two grandchildren, Julian Guidry and Dylon Guidry.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6 p.m. at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Grammier-Oberle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Groves.
