PORT ARTHUR —    Ruth Johnson, a natural born citizen of Port Arthur, Texas since 1921, came face-to-face with her Lord on Monday, November 4 @ 1:43 p.m.  She departed this earth in Cordova, TN in the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Rufus and Jacqueline Smith.

   Her life will be celebrated and remains released on Friday, November 8, 11 a.m. at the First Sixth Street Baptist 548 Lincoln Ave. Port Arthur, TX   77640,Pastor Thurman Bartie presiding.  Her body may be viewed from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. (prior to the worship service) at the church on Friday (November 8).

   Mrs. Johnson, so often called Ms. Ruth, is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Smith, son-in- law, Rev. Rufus Smith, IV, grandchildren, Ruth Abigail, Rufus, V, and Rhoda Anna, and great grandson, Malachi Derayn Smith.

      Loved so dearly by her extended family, she is also survived by her sister, Joyce Johnson with whom she enjoyed and shared friendship and residence as widows for the last 18 years.  Other survivors include a host of nephews, nieces, grand nephews and nieces and a most beloved friend of more than 40 years in the person of Joyce Bell Thompson.
