PORT ARTHUR —
Every life is precious to God, so much so that He chose to dispatch an angel to the home of Mikel Alfonza Gaskill, 72, on August 22, 2013, calling him from labor to reward.
Mikel was born, November 1, 1940 to the union of Moses Gaskill, Sr. and Lottie Mae Gaskill in Beauford, North Carolina. He later relocated to Port Arthur, Texas and remained a resident for 55 years. Mikel was a foreman and employee with 35 years of service at Jefferson County Drainage District #7. He was a member of God First Missionary Baptist Church.
Mikel was a vivid lover of football and no one can match his love of the game. He was a devoted fan of the Memorial Titans and Dallas Cowboys .
Mikel Alfonza Gaskill is survived by his children; Christopher and Deadra Gaskill; sister, Ida Smothers all of Port Arthur. A host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Rosena Vann, and Moses Gaskill, Jr.
Funeral Service and Visitation will be held. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Hannah Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is scheduled for 12:00 Noon with funeral service beginning at 2:00 P.M.. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park
