DAVID ALLEN GONZALEZ, 52 of Beaumont, formerly of Port Neches, passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.
David was born December 9, 1960 in Port Arthur, TX. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. He served in the U.S. Navy, returned home and was employed by Casa Ole where he worked for several years and cherished those memories. He loved to dance and go out with his friends. He was funny, he liked to talk, tell stories, be in control and be the boss. He loved all animals, too many to count. He was an awesome cook and party planner. David loved to celebrate life and spend all of his time with his family and friends. He would go to the kids’ activities and was over the top with anything he did for them. If he did not have something for them he would build it or invent it. Over the past several weeks he has been able to be with and was visited by all those he loved. He was thankful and appreciative. David sent a recent message saying, “It was the best day ever”, “Friends and family forever”.
He is survived by his parents, Jose and Socorro Gonzalez; his children, Kurt Legnon and Mallory King; Erek and Delayna Gonzalez; David Gonzalez and Ashley Kilgore; Meagan Gonzalez and Brett Bounds; Julius Gonzalez and Ashley Livingston; his grandchildren, Kaydence, Elise, Hayden, Isiah, Evelyn, Lynliegh and Easton; his siblings, Jose and Donna Gonzalez; Jerry Isam; Gina and Charlie Cessac; Lisa and Mark Fiorenza; Rita and Oran Day; Tina and John Cannatella; Sonia and Justin Sanderson; and several nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. at Gammier-Oberle Funeral Home.
