Wanda Culbertson, 75, of Port Acres, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native of Lufkin, she was born on September 25, 1937, to Moody and LaVelle Marze, and had been a resident of the Golden Triangle since 1957. Wanda retired as assistant manager of Alfords Super Market after many years of service. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Port Acres, very involved with W.M.U. and various other activities within the church.
Her husband of fifty years, James W. Culbertson; her parents, Moody and LaVelle Marze; and her twin brother, Donald Ray Marze preceded her in death.
Wanda is survived by her sons, James Culbertson and his wife, Connie, of Labelle and David Culbertson and his wife, Laurie, of Port Arthur; daughters, Ginger Piske of Houston; Amber Gallagher and her husband, Garry, of Friendswood; and Sherry Broussard and her husband, Kelly, of Beaumont; sister, Barbara Floyd of Lufkin; brother, James Marze of Lufkin; grandchildren, Jodi Foucher, Layne Culbertson, Jason Culbertson, Chad Culbertson, Zachary Gallagher, Raegan Piske, Cameron Piske, and Spencer English; great-grandchildren, Devan Gallagher, Ashton and Braden Culbertson, Jaxon and Cayne Culbertson, and Ella and Cerie Foucher; and a host of other family members and friends.
The family would like to offer special thanks to Dee Lopez for being a compassionate caregiver to Mrs. Culbertson.
A gathering of Mrs. Culbertson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2013, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
Serving as pallbearers will be Layne Culbertson, Jason Culbertson, Chad Culbertson, Zachary Gallagher, Raegan Piske, Cameron Piske, and Spencer English.
