NEDERLAND — Hungry? Got a craving for piping hot, slow simmered Cajun gumbo?
If the answer is yes, then don’t miss out on the Nederland Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Gumbo Dinner.
“We are very excited about our annual dinner,” Chamber President Wanda Hollier said. “The proceeds from the event help us give scholarships to graduating seniors.”
Each year the Nederland Chamber of Commerce gives three $800 scholarships to deserving NHS seniors. An additional percentage of funds from this year’s gumbo dinner will also go towards Nederland High School’s Project Celebration party for 2007.
“We have quite a few good Cajun cooks, so we ought to have some great gumbo,” Hollier said. “We just hope the community will come out and support this wonderful event.”
Along with the bowl of gumbo, Hollier said diners can look forward to iced tea, homemade desserts and entertainment provided by the Nederland Westernaires and two elementary school choirs.
