Groves police Department responded to the following calls from Sept. 30-Oct. 6: Wednesday, Sept. 30 •Someone scratched a vehicle that was parked in the 5200 block of Twin City Highway. •A 48-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 5000 block of 32nd Street. •A citizen filled out a “work at home” questionnaire online and received a letter in the mail to be a “mystery shopper.” The letter contained an authentic looking check in the amount of $3,975.20, which later was found to be invalid. Thursday, Oct. 1 •A 27-year-old male was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 5000 block of 32nd Street. •After responding to a leaving the scene accident, the driver was located in the 3900 block of 39th Street and a 38-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Port Arthur city warrants. •A 29-year-old male was arrested in the 3000 block of Pure Atlantic Highway when his vehicle was stopped for traffic offenses. •Criminal Mischief was reported by a citizen in the 3100 block of Main Avenue, in which company vehicles were damaged by rocks being thrown at them. Security video is being used to investigate the incident. Friday, Oct. 2 •After stopping a vehicle in the 5000 block of 33rd street, the driver, a 18-year-old male, was arrested for outstanding warrants out of the City of Port Arthur. •An unknown teen age boy assaulted another teen by throwing a drink on him and damaged his cell phone in the 6200 block of 39th Street. •Someone broke into a coin operated machine stealing the coins in the 5000 block of 32nd Street. •A disturbance was investigated in the 2900 block of Taft. •A disturbance was investigated in the 2700 block of Oleander. •A 28-year-old female was arrested for driving while intoxicated with a child in the vehicle after officers investigated a minor traffic accident in the 6800 block of 25th Street. •A disturbance was investigated in the 5100 block of East Parkway. Saturday, Oct. 3 •A wallet was stolen from a parked car in the 6100 block of Warren. Someone also removed two stickers that were on the vehicle, leaving scratch marks. Damage was done to a second vehicle’s front grill. •A disturbance was investigated in the 5500 block of West Jefferson. •Someone scratched a vehicle parked in the 2700 block of Third Avenue. •A 37-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 3900 block of Pure Atlantic. Sunday, Oct. 4 •A 21-year-old male was arrested on outstanding warrants in the 3900 block of Lincoln. •A 26-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 6300 block of Warren. Monday, Oct. 5 •A 28 year old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 5300 block of 25th Street. Tuesday, Oct. 6 •Two Memphis 10” subwoofers and a Memphis amp were stolen from a vehicle in the 5300 block of West Groves Circle. •Someone shot a small caliber weapon in the front window of a residence in the 6300 block of Gulfway Drive. •Unauthorized charges were made to a credit card account.
