The Port Arthur News
The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for portions of southeast Texas and Louisiana through Wednesday evening.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue to develop and move north across southeast Texas, central and southern Louisiana.
The heaviest rainfall and the greatest potential for flooding rains will come late tonight into Wednesday as a slow moving surface front advances through the area. Rainfall totals through late Wednesday night are expected to average five to seven inches over southeast Texas and southwest Louisiana and locally higher amounts are possible.
A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
