UPDATE: Groves, Port Neches elections running close

— The race for a spot on Groves City Council and for two seats on Port Neches City Council is very close with only a handful of votes separating the candidates.

So far 20 out of 57 voting centers have completed reporting and Groves incumbent Sidney Badon Jr. has 207 votes or 59.48 percent compared to his opponent Rob Vensel who has 141 votes or 40.52 percent.

In the Port Neches City Council Place 1 race Chris McMahon has garnered 525 votes or 51.57 percent. His opponent Kim Hall has 493 votes or 48.43 percent.

In the Port Neches City Council Place 2 race Adam Anders has 566 votes or 52.36 percent while incumbent Roy A. Hollier has 515 or 47.64 percent.
