— At approximately 3:22 p.m. on Monday, March 10 there was a crash on Recreational Road 255 in Jasper County involving a train and a commercial vehicle, according to a press release from Trooper Stephanie Davis.
The train, operated by Timberrock Railroad Company was traveling along its tracks with it was struck by an 18-wheeler.
According to the driver of the truck, he was traveling westbound on Recreational Road 255 when his brakes failed. The driver jumped out of the 2005 Peterbuilt truck before it struck the train.
The driver, Markeim Reliford of Cal, was transported to Jasper Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
