Surveillance photos released from Wells Fargo robbery

BEAUMONT — The FBI and Beaumont Police are searching for a man who robbed Wells Fargo Bank at knife point Monday morning.

At 9:01 a.m. Monday, a white male entered Wells Fargo Bank at 4405 Dowlen Road. He got in line and then said he wanted a stack of $100 dollar bills, according to a press release from BPD. One of the tellers thought he was joking and commented. The man jumped on the counter and displayed a dark colored knife. He told the tellers it was not a joke, it was a robbery. The teller gave him and undetermined amount of money and he fled out the front doors.

A witness saw the suspect driving away in a reddish colored, older model Volvo. He was last seen headed toward Applebee's exit area.

He is described as about 5-foot 8, late 30's, long dark hair slicked back, wearing a black zip up collared jacket, maroonish or reddish colored shirt, dark jeans and dark tennis shoes. He had no facial hair, but it reportedly look unkept and dirty.

The FBI and Beaumont Detectives are still investigating the incident.
