Kids’ Day, Zydeco on Saturday’s South Texas State Fair schedule

BEAUMONT — If you need proof you’ve been to the South Texas State Fair, get your picture made on Crazy Mouse, a roller coaster ride that makes riders feel like they’ll sail right into the rest of the mid-way.

Donnie Warner, chairman of the fair, said the Crazy Mouse is a hot ticket, and encouraged folks to come try it out on Saturday, Kids’ Day, and every other day of the fair. The Young Men’s Business League will present the South Texas Fair through Sunday, April 5, at Ford Park in Beaumont.

Saturday’s entertainment schedule includes:

• Noon to 1 p.m. — Simple Logic

• 1 to 2:30 p.m. — Bryce Shaver Band

• 3:30- 5 p.m. —  Longneck Road

• 6-7:30 p.m. — Cordell Harris & The Fuzion of Elements

• 9-10:30 p.m. — Keith Fank & the Soileau Zydeco Band

Theme days are: Kids’ Day, Saturday; Conn’s Senior Citizens Day, Sunday; HEB Dollar Night, Monday; KYKR Ladies Night, Tuesday; Sonic 2 for 2 Buddy Night, Wednesday; Rodeo Night, Thursday; Kids’ Day, Rodeo Night, April 4; Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper Cantastic Sunday, April 5. Ford Park is at 5115 Interstate 10 South in Beaumont.

Junior Rabbit Meat Pen Check-In 7 a.m. -8 a.m.

Junior Breeding Rabbit Check-In (Rabbit Barn) 7:30 a.m. - 8 a.m.

Open Junior Brahman Heifer Show #1 (TCCA Sanctioned) 8 a.m.

Open Poultry & Waterfowl Judging TBA

Rabbit Show 9 a.m.

Bill Hames Shows Carnival 10 a.m. - Close

Auto Show – Exhibit Hall 10 a.m. - Close

Children's Barnyard 10 a.m. - 10:30 p.m.

Open Brahman Show, Split – Red & Grey 11 a.m.

Open Junior Brahman Heifer Show #2 (TCCA Sanctioned) 5 p.m.

All Open Show Cattle Releasing TBA
