BEAUMONT — If you need proof you’ve been to the South Texas State Fair, get your picture made on Crazy Mouse, a roller coaster ride that makes riders feel like they’ll sail right into the rest of the mid-way.
Donnie Warner, chairman of the fair, said the Crazy Mouse is a hot ticket, and encouraged folks to come try it out on Saturday, Kids’ Day, and every other day of the fair. The Young Men’s Business League will present the South Texas Fair through Sunday, April 5, at Ford Park in Beaumont.
Saturday’s entertainment schedule includes:
• Noon to 1 p.m. — Simple Logic
• 1 to 2:30 p.m. — Bryce Shaver Band
• 3:30- 5 p.m. — Longneck Road
• 6-7:30 p.m. — Cordell Harris & The Fuzion of Elements
• 9-10:30 p.m. — Keith Fank & the Soileau Zydeco Band

After another drowning accident at Keith Lake cut, the small channel where the lake runs under the bridge, Saturday, the popular fishing hole is starting to gain a different reputation. Fishermen know that if they fall in the water, there’s a good chance they’ll be leaving in a body bag.

Map shows rainfall totals through noon
The National Weather Service in Lake Charles is continuing the flash flood watch for the entire region this afternoon, but it could be removed later today for east Texas and central Louisiana. Heavy rains today have produced 5-10 inches of rain across southeast Texas, 3-6 inches across southwest and south central Louisiana, and 1-3 inches in east Texas and central Louisiana.
