Services for Nederland homicide victim Patricia “Patti” Dale Hebert are pending at Broussard’s Mortuary.
Hebert, 67, was found deceased in her home in the 1500 block of North 27th Street about 10:40 a.m. Sunday. Nederland Police are still searching for clues to the murder.
Nederland Police Chief Darrell Bush said a neighbor who lives behind Hebert had went to the home to check on her and found her on the floor in the kitchen with a laceration to the left side of her throat.
“There was no forced entry to the house and it doesn’t appear to be burglarized,” Bush said. “We feel the suspect is someone she probably knew.”
Hebert lived alone in the North 27th Street home but was known to have people stay with her from time to time, he said.
“The investigation is being conducted by the Nederland Police Department, the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office and the Jefferson County Crime Lab,” he said.
Justice of the Peace Marc DeRouen is conducting the inquest.
