Groves Police calls, Jan. 16 through Jan. 22

GROVES — Friday, Jan. 18

• A 40-year-old male was arrested for assault/family violence in the 2800 block of Rose.

• A 33-year-old female was arrested for assault/family violence in the 2600 block of Twin City Highway.

• A bicycle was stolen from the 3300 block of Canal. The bicycle was later recovered.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• A person was cited for being in possession of certain prohibited substances in the 6300 block of 39th Street.

Saturday, Jan. 19

• A 57-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense, in the 6500 block of Val after a traffic stop.

• A boat gas tank was stolen from the 6100 block of Jackson.

• Two chain saws were stolen from the 3000 block of Graves.

• A 50-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Jefferson County warrants after a traffic stop in the 5300 block of 39th Street.

• Ruts were made in a field in the 6000 block of South.

Sunday, Jan. 20

• A truck was left abandoned in a ditch in the 6600 block of 25th Street.

• A 20-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Port Neches warrants after a traffic stop in the 6500 block of Hogaboom.

• A blue and white Kent brand bicycle was stolen from the 6600 block of Taylor.

• Game consoles, cash, and two televisions were stolen from a house in the 6500 block of Howe.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• A green Jeep was seen “doing donuts” in the field at Groves Middle School, causing ruts to the ground.

• A 37-year-old male was arrested for DWI/open alcohol container after a traffic stop in the 4700 block of Twin City Highway.

Monday, Jan. 21

• Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 5000 block of Monroe.

• Burglary to a habitation was reported in the 6800 block of Essex. The garage was entered and someone stole both headrests from a vehicle and ripped the upholstery.

• Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 3800 block of Stuart. The door to the residence was pried open and two TVs valued at $300 each, an HP laptop valued at $350 and several pieces of jewelry valued at more than $250 were stolen.
