Groves Police calls, Jan. 16 through Jan. 22

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Jan. 16 through Jan. 22



Wednesday, Jan. 16

• A customer at a local business in the 4500 block of Twin City Highway reported the theft of a purse from her vehicle and had observed the suspect enter and remove the purse and then chased after the vehicle. Another customer began to help and observed the actor vehicle enter another business and called officers.  The alleged suspect, a 45-year-old male, was arrested for burglary of a vehicle and also unauthorized use of a motor vehicle offense out of Beaumont. All of the property was recovered.

• A Garmin GPS valued at $200, Apple I phone valued at $200, bag of  $50 worth of quarters and XM satellite valued at $100 were stolen from a vehicle in the 5100 block of Doyle.

• A Cannon Portable printer valued at $250, a Cannon Cool Pix Digital Camera valued at $300, a flip cell phone valued at $200 and a tool box valued at $50 were stolen from a vehicle in the 3300 block of West Parkway.

• Several boxes containing miscellaneous items, jewelry, air tank and a box for two 10-inch speakers, total value at more than $1,300, were stolen from a storage building in the 4800 block of FM 366.

• Forgery was reported on a debit card after a purse was taken.  Charges were made of more than $500 without consent.

• A Dewalt impact driver, drill bits, tool satchel, I Pod touch, 44 mag ammo and work gloves, total value of property more than $500, was stolen from a vehicle in the 4900 block of Doyle.



Thursday, Jan 17

• A Sony XBox gaming console, several games, a pit bull puppy and a touch screen cell phone was stolen from a home in the 6100 block of Dave Street.

• A 19-inch Toshiba TV/DVD combo, a 47-inch LG TV, 32-inch LG TV, 32-inch Haier TV, a 32-inch Samsung TV, two Apple I Pads, and two Apple I Pods were stolen from a home in the 3100 block of East Drive. The total property value of the burglary is $4,300.

• A 39-year-old man was arrested for driving while intoxicated ,third offense, in the 3000 block of Maple.

• A 2000 Toyota Solara was stolen from the 6300 block of Warren. The vehicle was later recovered.



Friday, Jan. 18

• A 40-year-old male was arrested for assault/family violence in the 2800 block of Rose.

• A 33-year-old female was arrested for assault/family violence in the 2600 block of Twin City Highway.

• A bicycle was stolen from the 3300 block of Canal. The bicycle was later recovered.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• A person was cited for being in possession of certain prohibited substances in the 6300 block of 39th Street.



Saturday, Jan. 19

• A 57-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated, second offense, in the 6500 block of Val after a traffic stop.

• A boat gas tank was stolen from the 6100 block of Jackson.

• Two chain saws were stolen from the 3000 block of Graves.

• A 50-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Jefferson County warrants after a traffic stop in the 5300 block of 39th Street.

• Ruts were made in a field in the 6000 block of South.



Sunday, Jan. 20

• A truck was left abandoned in a ditch in the 6600 block of 25th Street.

• A 20-year-old female was arrested on outstanding Port Neches warrants after a traffic stop in the 6500 block of Hogaboom.

• A blue and white Kent brand bicycle was stolen from the 6600 block of Taylor.

• Game consoles, cash, and two televisions were stolen from a house in the 6500 block of Howe.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• A green Jeep was seen “doing donuts” in the field at Groves Middle School, causing ruts to the ground.

• A 37-year-old male was arrested for DWI/open alcohol container after a traffic stop in the 4700 block of Twin City Highway.



Monday, Jan. 21

• Burglary of a vehicle was reported in the 5000 block of Monroe.

• Burglary to a habitation was reported in the 6800 block of Essex. The garage was entered and someone stole both headrests from a vehicle and ripped the upholstery.

• Burglary of a habitation was reported in the 3800 block of Stuart. The door to the residence was pried open and two TVs valued at $300 each, an HP laptop valued at $350 and several pieces of jewelry valued at more than $250 were stolen.



Tuesday, Jan. 22

• A 28-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Port Arthur Police Department warrants after officers were called to a disturbance in the 2100 block of Perry.

• Medication was stolen from a home in the 2600 block of Cooley.

• Information on an assault was received.
