Two brothers are dead after their truck collided head-on with a truck tractor Monday night.
The driver of a 1997 Dodge pickup truck was traveling westbound on the IH-10 service road at about 8:20 p.m. Oct. 21 when the driver, for unknown reasons, lost control and entered the eastbound lanes of the Interstate. The 1997 Dodge truck collided head-on with a 2006 Volvo truck tractor. After the collision, the Dodge truck caught fire, according to a press release from Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Stephanie Davis.
The driver and passenger of the 1997 Dodge truck were pronounced dead at the scene by Judge Menard. The driver identified as was 42-year-old, Johnny Leslie Barton of Joaquin, Texas. The passenger was his twin brother, Rohnny Lee Barton of Beaumont. The driver of the truck tractor, James Chrisman of Tennessee, was not injured.
This crash remains under investigation.
