Murder victim’s missing gold Cadillac found; investigators seek public’s help

BEAUMONT — Local investigators have located murder victim Kimberly Grant’s missing gold Cadillac but they still don’t know why the 51-yer-old Crosby woman was in the Beaumont area.

“We believe that someone in the Beaumont area knows Ms. Grant or has seen her vehicle in the area,” Deputy Rod Carroll of the Sheriff’s Department said in a press release. The Cadillac SUV SRX bearing Texas license plate BN2-T228 wass been recovered in Houston. Criminal Investigation detectives would like to speak with anyone who might know why Ms. Grant was in the Beaumont area or had seen her vehicle.

Grant’s body was discovered along a canal road off Tram Road in rural Jefferson County. The preliminary cause of death is a gunshot wound, Carroll said. The roadway where the victim’s body was found is an entry point to a hunting lease.

Anyone with information about Ms. Grant or the location of her vehicle should contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 409-835-8734 or Beaumont's Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading the arrest of the person or persons responsible.
