The Port Arthur Beautification Commission will hold its annual Keep Texas Beautiful Great American Trash-Off - Port Arthur on Saturday, April 6. The group will meet at the Port Arthur City Hall parking lot.  Registration is from 7-8 a.m., the event is from 8 a.m. - noon. volunteers from all Area Businesses, organizations, neighborhood, church and youth teams are requested to help clean up Port Arthur. On site registration will be available.


After Lent Zydeco Dance will be from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, April 6, at the Knights  of Peter Claver Hall, 515 Savannah Ave. Music will be performed by J.J. Caillier & The Zydeco Knockouts.

BYOB and Admission is $10 pre sale, $12 at the door. Tickets can be purchased from KPC members or call 409 985-8419 or 409-543-3371.

Gulf Credit Union will host “Cars for the Cure” Car Show and Contest in cooperation with the Tri-City Corvette Club from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 6,  in the parking lot adjacent to Gulf Credit Union’s office in Groves between Texas 73 and 39th Street. No charge for admission. $15 to enter a vehicle. Registration 9-11 a.m. Saturday. Vote for you favorite car, truck, or motorcycle. Voting ends at noon. At 2 p.m. winners announced. Benefits Relay for Life Program of the American Cancer Society.

NEDERLAND — Mid-Jefferson County Aggie Mom’s Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 8 at Wesley United Methodist Church, 3515 Helena Ave., Nederland. New members are welcomed.

NEDERLAND — Capitol One will host the Nederland Chamber of Commerce Monthly Coffee at 8 a.m. Tuesday, April 9. The bank is located at 2950 FM 365, Port Arthur.

Captain William Sanders Chapter NSDAR will hold their April meeting at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, at White Haven on Lakeshore Drive.  Guest speaker Claire Barras will talk “All About Economics”.  The chapter is still collecting powdered drink mixes and individual coffee packs to send to our troops.
