Murder victim identified as Kimberly Grant, 51, of Crosby

BEAUMONT — The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has positively identified the murder victim whose body was found late Friday as Kimberly Grant, 51, of Crosby.

Investigators are still trying to locate the victim’s vehicle, described as a gold Cadillac SUV SRX    with Texas License Plate: BN2-T228. Anyone with information about Ms. Grant or the location of her vehicle should contact the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 409-835-8734 or Beaumont's Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information leading the arrest of the person or persons


Grant’s body was discovered along a canal road off Tram Road in rural Jefferson County. The preliminary cause of death is a gunshot wound, Deputy Rod Carroll of the Sheriff’s Department said.

The roadway whre the victim’s body was found is an entry point to a hunting lease. The scene was processed by the Jefferson County Crime lab. The investigation is being led by deputies with the criminal investigation division.
