Port Arthur’s new Westside Development Center is the site of a health fair Saturday. The free event is scheduled from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Westside Development Center, 601 Rev. Dr. Ransom Howard St. in Port Arthur.
Numerous health-related vendors and organizations will be available to distribute health education information, provide childhood immunizations, perform blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar screenings as well as HIV screenings.
Personnel will also be available to answer questions regarding cancer treatment and medication management.
Information will be available regarding hurricane preparedness and Medicaid/CHIPS applications will be available (bring identification and social security number.)
“This is an opportunity for citizens to receive very important health care information that will be beneficial to all, and also afford the opportunity showcase this beautiful new facility on Port Arthur’s Westside,” Dwight Wagner, event spokesman, said.
The health fair is open to the entire community, Wagner said.
