Orange County shooting victim's name released

ORANGE — One Orange County woman is dead and another facing charges following a shooting Monday night in Mauriceville.

Orange County Sheriffs received a 911 call about a shooting in the 6900 block of Swisher St. around 10:06 p.m.

When officers arrived they found Natalie Little, a 42-year-old  woman from Mauriceville, with a gunshot wound to the head. She was transported to Baptist Hospital in Orange, where she died shortly upon arrival.

The sheriffs were told the incident began when the suspect, Amanda Parker, 40, went to a residence on Swisher St. She was met outside by the victim who did not live at the house. During an argument Parker supposedly drew a handgun and shot the victim. She then chased another female to a neighbor’s house in the 7800 block of Roger St. where occupants of the home were able to subdue Parker, taking away the gun and notifying police, according to an OCSO release.

Parker is being charged with murder and is being held in the Orange County Jail with a bond of $1 million dollars.

An autopsy has also been ordered and the full investigation is ongoing.
