Shots fired at car in Port Arthur

PORT ARTHUR — Shots were reportedly fired at a Port Arthur man’s vehicle  on Sunday.

Port Arthur Police responded to the 3700 block of Fifth Street at about 6:31 p.m. July 6 in which a man at the scene told officers that a gray vehicle with several persons in it drove by him and fired several shots, according to a press release from the Port Arthur Police Department.

He was in his vehicle at the time and thought the shots were fired in his direction however his vehicle was not struck. The man stated that he fired shots back at the suspect vehicle.

Approximately one hour later an officer spotted the suspect vehicle and stopped it. No evidence was found in the vehicle linking it to the crime scene however the driver was arrested on an unrelated traffic charge.
