Entergy outage update 1 p.m. July 4

Due to damage from Thursday’s severe thunderstorm a number of Entergy customers remain without power on Friday.

As of 1 p.m. Friday, July 4, about 1,321 Entergy customers in the Port Arthur area and 400 in the Beaumont area remain without power, according to

Scouts and crews are in the affected areas and additional workers have been called in to assist them in restoring power as safely and quickly as possible. Entergy estimated that all customers will be restored by 11 p.m.

A total of 1.89 inches of rain was recorded at the Jack Brooks Regional Airport on Thursday. The highest wind speed reported was 51 mph with a gust of 66 mph.
