Armed man with green painted face robs Beaumont AT&T store, holds clerk at gunpoint

BEAUMONT — A man with his face painted pale green held a clerk at gunpoint while robbing the AT&T store located at 4460 Dowlen Road in Beaumont on Monday.

The suspect, described as a black male, 5-foot 7-inches to 5-foot 8-inches tall with slender build approached the clerk as she was entering the store and put his hand over her mouth at approximately 8:27 a.m. Feb. 17.

The suspect was armed with a black automatic pistol in his right hand. He reportedly walked the clerk to the back room where other employees had locked themselves in and demanded that they open the door or he would kill the clerk, according to a press release from the Beaumont Police Department.

After entering the room he picked up a deposit off the table then told the manager to open the safe and waited for the safe to open. After getting the money from the safe he left out the back door in an unknown direction.

The aggravated robbery suspect was wearing a gray hoodie with black writing on the front, black slacks, black leather dress shoes, red headphones, black leather gloves and a silver Adidas draw string back pack. His face was painted pale green.
