Port Arthur City Council election finals

Two incumbents and two newcomers were elected to Port Arthur City Council while two candidates will battle it out in a run-off election.

District 1 incumbent Raymond Scott Jr.  brought in 409 votes or 51 percent of the vote while his opponent Mike Mason brought in 393 votes or 49 percent.

The District 4 winner Stephen A. Mosley brought in 562 votes or 57.64 percent while Laura Miguez 413 votes or 42.36 percent.

Position 7 incumbent Derrick Freeman won his seat with 1,640 votes or 61.96 percent. His opponent, Reginald D. Trainer Sr. brought in 1,007 votes or 38.04 percent.

The Position 8 winner was Kaprina Richardson Frank who brought in 1,359 votes or 51.13 percent of the votes. Kerry “Twin” Thomas had 1,024 votes or 38.53 percent and Lowra A. Reado-Harrison brought in 275 votes or 10.35 percent.

A run-off will be held at a later date for the District 2 seat between Cal. J. Jones, who had 129 votes or 37.39 percent and Tiffany L. Hamilton, who had 168 votes or 48.70 percent. A third candidate, Maria Block, brought in 48 votes or 13.91 percent.
