Clerk shot during robbery at Nederland liquor store

NEDERLAND — A man with a silver handgun shot a 52-year-old clerk during a robbery at about 8:30 Saturday evening at  Twin City Liquor, 507 N. Twin City Highway.

Video obtained from the scene shows what appears to be a white male enter the store wearing a camouflage hoodie brandishing a silver handgun.  The gunman appears to say something to the victim and fires the shot striking him in the supper chest and shoulder area.   The victim then opened the cash drawer and the gunman reached across the counter and removed an undetermined amount of cash.

It is believed the gunman fled the scene in an unknown make and model vehicle.

The gunman is described as a white male 25-35 approximately 6 ft. 175-185 pounds with a sandy colored moustache and possible slight beard on his chin.

The victim was conscious and was able to speak with officers at the scene.  He was later transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital by ambulance.  He is listed in stable condition.
