Groves Police calls, Aug. 28 through Sept. 3

GROVES — Groves Police responded to the following calls from Aug. 28 through Sept. 3

Wednesday, Aug. 28

• Two people were arrested on outstanding Nederland Police Department and Jefferson County warrants in the 5100 block of East Parkway.

• A disturbance was reported in the 6100 block of Capital.

• While investigating a disturbance call in the area of Bay and Allison, a 19-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Port Arthur warrants.

• A burglary of a habitation was reported in the 3800 block of Main Avenue in which a door jam was damaged and keys were taken.

 

Thursday, Aug. 29

• A resident in the 5100 block of 33rd Street reported an aggravated robbery .

• A citizen in the 3000 block of High Avenue reported the theft of a red/yellow pressure washer valued at $300. A Poulan chain saw valued at $189, and an orange chop saw valued at $350 were taken from the residence without consent.

• The unauthorized use of a 1998 GMC Sierra pickup truck was reported in the 5200 block of 33rd Street. The vehicle was recovered and the suspect, 36-year-old male, was also arrested on outstanding Port Arthur warrants.

 

Friday, Aug. 30

• While on routine patrol, officers stopped a vehicle in the area of Lincoln Avenue and Terrell for a traffic offense. Upon checking the driver and all passengers for outstanding warrants, the driver, a 35-year-old female and one passenger, a 27-year-old male were arrested for City of Port Arthur warrants.

• A Lawnboy 21-inch self propelled lawn mower were stolen from a storage building in the 5000 block of Woodlawn. An attempt was also made to gain entry into the residence.

• A 35-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Jefferson and Orange county warrants after officers were called to the 5100 block of East Parkway on a disturbance.

• Two female adults were arrested for disorderly conduct/fighting in the 2600 block of Fourth Avenue.

 

Saturday, Aug. 31

• A 28-year-old male was arrested for assault in the 2600 block of Fourth Avenue.

• An abandoned vehicle was found in a ditch in the 6800 block of Willow.

• A black colored 2007 GMC Denali truck was stolen from the 5300 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A parked vehicle was hit by a vehicle that left the scene in the 5000 block of Twin City Highway.

• A 42-inch Samsung TV was stolen from the 5800 block of West Jefferson.

• Two adults were arrested for disorderly conduct after officers were called to the 2600 block of Twin City Highway on a disturbance.

• A 20-year-old male was arrested for possession of marijuana and a 22-year-old man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in the 4800 block of East Parkway.

 

Sunday, Sept. 1

• A 41-year-old male was arrested on Port Arthur Police Department warrants after officers were called to a disturbance in the 5100 block of East Parkway.

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• Lawn equipment was stolen from the 6700 block of Gulfway Drive.

• A 29-year-old male was arrested for public intoxication in the 6100 block of 25th Street.

 

Monday, Sept. 2

• A Honda generator was stolen from the 2400 block of Post Oak.

• A 27-year-old male was arrested on outstanding Port Arthur Police Department warrants after a traffic stop in the 3000 block of Main.

• A stalking report was made by a citizen.

 

Tuesday, Sept. 3

• Unauthorized charges were made to a debit card account.

• Criminal trespass warning notices were issued in the 5100 block of East Parkway.

• A bicycle theft was reported in the 5200 block of Wilson, but was later returned.

• A Stihl 18-inch chainsaw was stolen from the 6500 block of Val.
