A 16-year-old boy has been airlifted from a high school in suburban Houston with stab wounds suffered in an altercation at the campus.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office says it responded about 7 a.m. Wednesday to Spring High School to a report of a stabbing. Spring is about 20 miles north of Houston.
A dispatcher for the air ambulance at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center in Houston confirmed the boy was transported shortly before 8 a.m. CDT.
Media reports say multiple students were involved in the altercation.
Dozens of emergency vehicles were seen at the entrance to the school as parents and others gathered nearby. They were kept back by yellow police tape that stretched across the front of the school, which is under lockdown.
