PORT ARTHUR —
A 29-year-old Port Arthur man is behind bars after allegedly breaking into his ex-girlfriend’s home and assaulting her shortly afternoon Thursday.
The victim, age 30, told Port Arthur Police officers that the man forced entry to her home in the 600 block of 48th Street at about 12:10 p.m. and assaulted her.
The suspect had fled the residence by the time the officers arrived but was located in the vicinity and take into custody. He was transported to the Jefferson County Correctional Facility and booked on the charge of burglary of a habitation, according to a press release from PAPD.
