Spook-tacular book sale to benefit Groves Library

GROVES — Looking for a good book and a chance to benefit a local library? Look no further.

The Friends of Groves Public Library will host a Spook-tacular Book Sale Oct. 24-27 at the library, 5600 West Washington.

On Wednesday, Oct. 24, the sale is open to members of Friends of GPL only, but memberships are available at the door.

The times and dates of the sale are 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:50 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Marty Godwin, president of the group, said the sale occurs during National Friends of the Library week and there will be lots to choose from during the event. Hardbacks, paperbacks, trade paperbacks, nonfiction books, tons of needle work magazines, craft magazines and specialty items.

Prices are 10 cents to $1.

Other items include DVDs, VHSs, children’s books, westerns, war books, science fiction, biographies, cookbooks and home and garden books.

There will also be a drawing for a signed, numbered print by artist Jerry Newman, she added.

Proceeds from the sale benefit groves Public Library.

“Come early for the best selections,” Godwin said.
