PORT ARTHUR —
A Port Arthur man received a gunshot wound from a gun that was fired through an apartment door early Monday morning.
Port Arthur Police officers responded to the call of a shooting at about 1 a.m. Dec. 30 at Port Arthur Park Apartments, 1348 Jefferson Drive. They found that a man had been shot in the lower part of his body. Fire and EMS responded and began treating the victim and he was eventually transported to Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth in Beaumont for further treatment. The wound was serious but not believed to be life threatening, according to a press release from PAPD.
Officers learned the victim was shot through the door of the apartment.
Officers were able to gain some information in reference to a possible suspect however no arrests have been made at this time.
