By the time the turkey is roasted Thursday, a chance of rain will arrive and stay through Saturday for a sumptuous yet soggy holiday weekend, while Black Friday shoppers better pack an umbrella before heading out in search of bargains.
“Wednesday begins with a beautiful day before a good chance of rain moves in,” Sam Shamburger, meteorologist with the National Weather Service’s Lake Charles office, said.
Temperatures will be around 72 Wednesday afternoon with a low around 58 during the night when another storm system develops.
Thanksgiving festivities can be planned around a warm, wet day, with a high around 76 and a 50 percent chance of showers by afternoon.
Holiday shoppers better bundle up before going out for Friday bargains. A cold front will move across Southeast Texas, bringing an increased chance of rain at 50 percent.
“For Friday, all shopping activities will be pretty wet, at least in the morning,” Shamburger said.
From Friday night until Saturday expect cooler temperatures with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will drop down to around 50 Friday night, warming up to about 63 on Saturday.
The rest of the weekend looks cool and beautiful, with a high around 61 and a low of 45 on Sunday.
