Published October 20, 2009 01:32 pm - Central M.S. twirlers earn top spots at UIL The Port Arthur News NEDERLAND — Central Middle School twirlers earned top spots at the recent University Interscholastic League Solo and Ensemble contest held at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School.
All six of the twirlers performed their solos for the judges and all received the highest score possible which is a rating of 1. Eighth grade twirlers, Makaley Harper, Katie Leavins, and Samantha Kauffman, also received a rating of 1 for their ensemble. The 2009-2010 CMS twirlers are (back left to right) Katie Leavins, Lauren Pontiff, Samantha Kauffman, (middle) Drum Major Makaley Harper, (front left to right) Jessica Braquet, and Carrington Barfield. Their Faculty Sponsor is Natasha Rone.
