FEMA representative robbed at knifepoint

A FEMA representative was the victim of an aggravated robbery Sunday afternoon.
The incident began with a call, made about 2:20 p.m., to the Port Arthur Police Department from a person who witnessed a woman being assaulted near the 2700 block of Fifth Street.
Officers responded to the area and stopped a suspect fitting the description given by the caller. Approximately eight minutes after the original call was received and while officers were detaining the suspect in the assault they were approached by another person that claimed to be the victim of a robbery. The victim identified the person detained by officers as the person that had just robbed him at knifepoint in the 2700 block of Sixth Street.
The suspect was then taken into custody for aggravated robbery. The victim in the robbery was a FEMA representative.
The woman that was reported to have been beaten was not located by officers and no calls were received from anyone claiming to be the victim in the assault.
